Summary: The Substance Misuse Recovery Worker role in Coventry involves supporting service users throughout their treatment and recovery journey. The position requires providing assessments, recovery planning, and advocacy while promoting community involvement and reducing alcohol-related harm. This is a full-time contract position with a focus on enabling service users to lead meaningful lives. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey.
- Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral.
- Reducing alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
- Promoting carer, service user and community involvement.
- Providing advocacy for access to partnership services.
- Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self determination.
Key Skills:
- Experience in substance misuse recovery or related field.
- Strong assessment and recovery planning skills.
- Ability to advocate for service users and promote community involvement.
- Knowledge of harm reduction strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
