Summary: The Substance Misuse Recovery Worker role in Bournemouth involves supporting service users throughout their treatment and recovery journey on a full-time, three-month contract. The position requires providing assessments, recovery planning, and promoting community involvement to reduce alcohol-related harm. The worker will also advocate for service users and assist in their social reintegration. An Enhanced DBS check is necessary for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
- Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
- Reducing alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
- Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
- Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
- Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self determination
Key Skills:
- Experience in substance misuse recovery or related field
- Strong assessment and recovery planning skills
- Ability to advocate for service users
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of community involvement and support systems
- Enhanced DBS check
