Summary: Petrofac is seeking a Subsea Engineering Lead for a 6-month PAYE contract based in Aberdeen, Scotland. The role involves overseeing subsea engineering activities, managing interactions with contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The position requires a strong background in subsea and pipeline engineering, along with proven management experience in offshore construction contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for interactions with Development team and installation contractors for FEED and Execution phases, through to pre-commissioning and handover.
- Support in-country subsea team in day-to-day activities and liaise with relevant subcontractors.
- Tendering support including ITT preparation, clarification, evaluation & RTA.
- Technical oversight and documentation review.
- Construction & Installation planning & activity management in country support facilities/base set-up for installation campaign.
- Interface management.
- Onshore & Offshore activity supervision during installation phase.
- Support onshore integration testing (with SPS).
- Progress assessment & reporting.
- HSEQ leadership and documentation of activities.
- Support in-country operations team on subsea integrity and well services operations.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and verification bodies as required.
- Participate in client project meetings and reporting requirements.
- Provide operational support and coaching as required.
- Day-to-day technical management and oversight of Installation Contractor(s).
- Support Subsea Delivery Manager and ensure optimal delivery of budgetary commitments.
- Identify areas of efficiency for cost savings without compromising safety or production.
- Manage multiple work scopes and prioritize resources effectively.
Key Skills:
- Degree qualified or significant experience in the oil and gas industry, especially in subsea & pipelines.
- Proven Installation Contractor management experience.
- Knowledge of national and international codes & standards.
- Commercial awareness with experience in managing offshore construction contracts.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Good organizational skills and personal effectiveness.
- Ability to engage with multidisciplinary teams and explain complex technical issues.
- Experience in activity planning, budgeting, and cost management.
- In-depth knowledge of well barriers and barrier management.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
