Summary: The role of Senior Subsea CAD Designer involves developing and maintaining high-quality 3D models for a FEED-stage offshore energy project. The designer will collaborate with engineers to create practical designs for subsea systems, ensuring adherence to project standards. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in offshore or subsea CAD design, particularly in complex engineering environments. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement and is outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and develop detailed 3D CAD models for subsea equipment and offshore layouts
- Create and update design drawings and 3D models for FEED and detailed design stages
- Support layout development of subsea systems, assemblies, and structures
- Translate engineering inputs into accurate CAD deliverables
- Revise models based on design reviews and technical feedback
- Ensure all CAD outputs meet project standards and specifications
- Support coordination across design and engineering teams
- Provide guidance to junior CAD designers where required
Key Skills:
- Strong 3D CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor essential)
- Background in offshore, subsea, EPC, or oil & gas design environments
- Proven experience producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings
- Experience working on FEED or detailed design projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical or structural layout design
- Ability to work independently in a design delivery environment
- Experience working within engineering project teams

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Subsea CAD Designer to join a FEED-stage offshore energy project, working on behalf of our client, a major oil & gas engineering contractor based in Surrey.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
You will work closely with engineers and project teams to translate technical inputs into practical, buildable 3D designs for subsea systems and equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong offshore/subsea CAD designer who enjoys detailed design work in a complex engineering environment.

Required Experience
We are looking for a strong CAD/design professional from offshore or heavy industry environments.
Strong 3D CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor essential)
Background in offshore, subsea, EPC, or oil & gas design environments
Proven experience producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings
Experience working on FEED or detailed design projects
Strong understanding of mechanical or structural layout design
Ability to work independently in a design delivery environment
Experience working within engineering project teams
Desirable Experience
Subsea equipment, offshore modules, or structural design experience
Experience within EPC contractors or engineering consultancies
Familiarity with offshore installation or subsea layout constraints
Experience in large-scale industrial or energy infrastructure projects
