Subject Manager - Finance, Audit & Assurance

Posted Today by ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs

Who we are

We’re ICAS – a global professional membership organisation and business network for Chartered Accountants.

We’re an educator, regulator, examiner, and a professional awarding body.

Our smart and talented team comes from all walks of life.

With a relaxed dynamic and a collaborative spirit, we take care of each other while supporting a vibrant, global membership.

What’s the job?

This is an opportunity to influence how future Chartered Accountants learn, think and apply their expertise in a fast-changing profession.

As Subject Manager, you will help shape practical, engaging and future-focused learning across finance, audit and assurance, ensuring students are equipped to build confidence, exercise judgement and respond to the real challenges they will face throughout their careers.

You will bring technical subject matter to life by connecting syllabus content to real business situations, helping students see not only what they need to know, but how to apply that knowledge with insight, integrity and commercial awareness.

Taking ownership of key areas including business management, finance, audit and assurance, you will ensure content remains current, high quality and relevant to the needs of students, employers and the wider profession.

Working collaboratively with tutors, digital content specialists, assessment colleagues and external stakeholders, you will influence how these subjects are taught, assessed and experienced, making learning more accessible, applied and future-ready.

Through your work, students will develop the skills that matter for the future of the profession: analysing business performance, interpreting financial information, evaluating risk, using data, exercising professional scepticism and communicating clear, evidence-based recommendations.

This fixed-term role offers the chance to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the curriculum, helping ensure ICAS students are prepared not just for today’s exams, but for the opportunities, expectations and challenges of tomorrow’s profession.

  • Embed professional skills including judgement, scepticism, ethics, governance and communication.
  • Use student data, feedback and stakeholder insight to drive continuous improvement.

Who do we need?

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with curiosity, clarity and a genuine interest in developing others.

You will be confident working with complex information and turning it into practical, relevant and accessible learning for students.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge across one or more areas of finance, audit or assurance.
  • Experience applying finance, audit or assurance expertise in an accountancy, business, finance or related professional environment.

  • Ability to use student performance data, feedback and stakeholder insight to drive continuous improvement in learning content.
  • Hold a Chartered Accountancy qualification or equivalent qualification (SCQF Level 11/Masters level).

Why join us?

By joining ICAS, you will play a part in preparing future Chartered Accountants and wider business professionals to apply technical expertise with confidence, curiosity and integrity.
