Summary: The Structures Technician role involves carrying out modifications and maintenance on aircraft in accordance with approved technical drawings and maintenance data. The technician will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of all work performed and will report to the Lead Technician or B1 Engineer. Key tasks include the installation of complex structural assemblies and maintaining a safe working environment. Candidates should have relevant experience and training in aeronautical engineering or a military equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out modifications and maintenance in accordance with approved drawings and maintenance data.
  • Take full accountability for the technical integrity of all work performed.
  • Provide regular updates on any issues affecting the work plan, including proposed solutions or recommendations.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to the Lead Technician or B1 Engineer.
  • Complete strip/removal of major structural aircraft equipment.
  • Interpret technical manuals, technical drawings, and regulatory requirements.
  • Install complex structural assemblies while working to fine tolerances and high standards.
  • Use sealants, various fasteners, and bonding techniques as per technical standards.
  • Maintain the highest standards of tool control within the work area.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Key Skills:

  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical engineering or military equivalent.
  • Ideally 2 years live aircraft sheet metal/structural experience.
  • Previous aircraft production experience.
  • Previous aircraft modification experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent hand skills and attention to detail.
  • Eligible to work and live in the UK.
  • Subject to UK security vetting.
  • Excellent knowledge of airframes.
  • Reliability and adaptability.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Part-145 Training Requirements including Initial Human Factors and Continuation Training.
  • Initial and Continuation Training for SFAR phase 1&2.
  • Initial and Continuation Training for EWIS group 1&2.
  • ETOPS RVSM.
