Key Responsibilities:
- Installation of structured data cabling systems in commercial environments
- Termination and installation of Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling
- Fibre optic cabling including pulling, terminating, and testing (splicing advantageous)
- Installation and dressing of data cabinets, racks, patch panels, and containment systems
- Testing, labelling, and fault finding using Fluke or equivalent testers
- Working from technical drawings, schematics, and site specifications
- Working on offices, education buildings, laboratories, warehouses, and data centre projects
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a data cabling engineer or structured cabling engineer
- Strong background in network cabling, telecoms, and low-voltage installations
- Valid CSCS card or ECS card
- Own data cabling tools, testers, and full PPE
- Ability to work independently and as part of a site team
- Good understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA)
- Desirable: IPAF and/or PASMA certification
- Desirable: Fibre splicing experience
- Desirable: Commercial, industrial, or data centre cabling experience
