Summary: The role of Structural Engineer involves working with a major EPCI contractor on a significant FPSO project based in Paris. The position is contract-based for an initial duration of 12 months, with the potential for extension as project scopes evolve. The engineer will focus on designing and analyzing offshore subsea structures while collaborating with team members to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze offshore subsea structures including FLETs, manifolds, suction piles, and large mudmats.
- Utilize FEA software ABAQUS (2D shell and 3D volumic) and Beam software SACS for structural analysis.
- Perform hand calculations to validate design solutions.
- Review and provide feedback on drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborate with draftsmen, ensuring data provided is accurate and timely.
- Propose innovative solutions and improvements to project leads.
- Ensure all designs meet industry standards and project requirements.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in offshore subsea structure design and analysis.
- Proficiency in FEA software ABAQUS (2D shell and 3D volumic) and ideally Beam software SACS.
- Strong hand calculation skills.
- Ability to work independently and propose effective design solutions.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral); proficiency in French is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
