Summary: The Structural Detail Design Engineer at Expleo will engage in detailed engineering design activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards. The role involves producing accurate technical drawings and specifications, addressing design issues, and supporting project documentation. Candidates should possess experience in design software, particularly FORAN, and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The position emphasizes both autonomous and team-based work in a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
• Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
• Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
• Project Support: Contributing to and supporting the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
• Technical Support: Providing technical support during the construction and installation phases.
• Perform self-verification of work.
• Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
• Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented.
• Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
• Change embodiment.

Key Skills:

• Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.
• Proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD systems in both 3D & 2D environments, specifically FORAN.
• Experience in Design processes and procedures specifically within detail design (stage 2 modelling/stage 3 outputs).
• Experience working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects, preferably naval shipbuilding projects or major conversion packages.
• NC/HNC or equivalent qualification/experience in a relatable discipline subject.
• Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
