We’re working with a high-growth, private equity-backed SaaS business with a strong international footprint and established customer base.
They’re at a pivotal stage - with continued investment and a broad product portfolio, the focus is now on making clearer, more deliberate decisions about where to invest next to drive future growth.
This role sits at the centre of Product and the executive team - helping shape what the business builds next, and why.
The role
You’ll act as a strategic partner to Product leadership and the wider exec team, bringing structure, insight and commercial rigour to key decisions.
There’s already strong bottom-up thinking across Product. What’s missing is a clear, joined-up view of where to invest next across the portfolio.
You’ll take ownership of that.
This means stepping back from day-to-day delivery and asking:
Where are the biggest opportunities across our product set?
Which markets or segments are we under-serving?
What should we prioritise now to set us up over the next 3–5 years?
You’ll turn these into clear, evidence-backed recommendations - supported by business cases that stand up commercially and operationally.
This isn’t about producing strategy in isolation. It’s about shaping decisions that can actually be delivered.
What you’ll be doing
Build a clear view of market dynamics - competitors, customers, trends and opportunities
Partner with Product to understand performance, gaps and growth areas
Identify and prioritise strategic opportunities across the portfolio
Develop a pipeline of initiatives with clear sizing and expected outcomes
Create investment-grade business cases (modelling, scenarios, ROI)
Translate strategy into practical plans with clear milestones and KPIs
Work closely with Product, Finance and senior stakeholders to test and refine ideas
You’ll be working across a live pipeline of strategic questions - some needing quick answers, others deeper analysis - so pace and adaptability are key.
What they’re looking for
Background in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or similar (5–10+ years)
Experience working with Product, Technology or digital teams
Strong commercial thinking and financial modelling capability
Ability to structure complex problems and deliver clear recommendations
Comfortable influencing and challenging senior stakeholders
Most importantly, you’ll balance strategic thinking with pragmatism.
This isn’t about producing polished presentations that sit on a shelf - it’s about defining opportunities in a way the business can actually execute.
Why this role?
This role offers direct exposure to the Exec Leadership team, with real influence over product direction and strategic decision-making. The work is focused on future growth rather than BAU, giving you the opportunity to work on a variety of initiatives at different stages. You’ll also play a key part in shaping how strategic decisions are made across the business, with the potential for the role to extend or evolve into something permeant for the right person.
If you enjoy working at the intersection of strategy, product and commercial decision-making - and want to see your work translate into real outcomes - this is a genuinely interesting opportunity to step into.
