Summary: The Strategic Project Manager will spearhead the development of new sporting partnerships and enhance existing commercial relationships for the University. This role involves coordinating strategic projects aligned with the University’s operational plans and engaging with various stakeholders to drive business growth. The position is part of the Executive Transformation Team and requires effective management of project delivery and stakeholder relations. The contract is fixed-term for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and deliver strategic projects and initiatives that align with the RAU Strategy 2023-2028 and Operational Plan 2024/25.
• Identify and prioritise future projects and initiatives for timely and budget-compliant delivery.
• Engage academic and professional services in project delivery.
• Collaborate with the Campus Experience Director and Finance to manage project budgets and identify revenue generation sources.
• Report on project progress to University senior leadership and governance structures.
• Lead and engage in audit and project assurance processes for compliance.
• Manage evaluation and lessons learned exercises for projects and initiatives.

Key Skills:

• Educated to Degree Level or equivalent experience.
• Project Management qualification and/or equivalent experience.
• Proven track record of leading strategic projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with or for sporting bodies in a commercial context.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.
• Understanding of the local sporting environment and commercial opportunities.
• Excellent logical decision-making and balanced judgement skills.
• Strong influencing and negotiating abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• High level of digital literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in financial or budget management.
• Current valid driving licence or equivalent mobility.
