Summary: The Strategic Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing supplier relationships and enhancing sourcing efficiencies within a utilities client. This role involves establishing a Supplier Relationship Management framework, updating contracts, and collaborating with the Procurement team. The position is a 6-month contract based in Glasgow or Perth, requiring 1 to 2 days onsite per week. The role is classified as inside IR35 with a daily rate of £500 - £550.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting up a robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework within a specified high-risk category of suppliers
- Updating supplier contracts and ensuring a comprehensive risk report is created to track progress
- Collaborating with the wider Procurement and Commercial team to establish a central repository for all supplier performance reporting
- Developing standard and complex supplier segmentation and governance strategies
- Highlighting risks and implementing processes to effectively manage suppliers
- Supporting supplier relationship and performance management activities
Key Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of IT markets, business needs, and UK Procurement Legislation
- Strong understanding of relevant statutory and legal provisions, with the ability to draft IT contracts with special terms
- Experience in using Procurement-related systems, such as Oracle, Jaggaer Bravo! or Achilles Utility Vendor Database
- Excellent communication and numeracy skills, with a highly-developed drafting and writing ability
- Proven track record of managing supplier relationships and driving efficiencies in the supply chain
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, manage expectations, and influence people outside your direct sphere of responsibility
- Self-confidence, independence, and a target-focused, result-driven mindset

Lorien's Utilities client are currently recruiting for a Strategic Procurement Officer to join on a 6 month initial contract, inside IR35.
