Summary: The Strategic Procurement Officer role involves managing supplier relationships and contracts within high-risk categories for a utilities client. This position requires collaboration with Category Managers and stakeholders to ensure effective supplier governance and risk management. The role is offered on a 6-month contract basis with hybrid working arrangements. The position is classified as inside IR35, reflecting the employment status for tax purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting up Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) within a specified high risk category of suppliers.
  • Requirement to update supplier contracts, ensuring a risk report is created to show progress.
  • Collaborate with Category Managers as well as the Business in the development of both standard and complex supplier segmentation and governance.
  • Ensure the risks are highlighted and a process is put in place to manage the suppliers.
  • Support relevant supplier relationship and performance management activities.
  • Work closely with Stakeholders to understand their requirements, manage expectations and influence people outside your sphere of responsibility.

Key Skills:

  • Broad knowledge of IT markets, business needs and UK Procurement Legislation.
  • Strong understanding of relevant statutory and legal provisions, with the ability to draft IT contracts with special terms.
  • Experienced in the use of Procurement related systems, such as Oracle, Jaggaer Bravo! and Achilles Utility Vendor Database.
  • Strong understanding of the supply chain and how to manage it.
  • A target-focused and result-driven individual.
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills, with a highly-developed drafting and writing ability.
