About the Role
As the Strategic Commissioning & Systems Development Lead, you will be responsible for leading high-profile commissioning programmes, developing outcome-focused strategies, and implementing innovative approaches that improve services and deliver value for money.
Working across complex partnerships, you'll influence system-wide transformation, manage commissioning projects from design through to delivery, and support the development of integrated services that place residents at the heart of decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic commissioning and system development across a designated service area.
- Develop and implement commissioning strategies aligned to organisational priorities.
- Drive transformational change through partnership working and co-production.
- Lead complex commissioning projects, service redesigns and procurements.
- Build strong relationships with providers, stakeholders and system partners.
- Oversee contract management, quality assurance and performance improvement.
- Analyse demand, market intelligence and performance data to inform strategic decisions.
- Manage budgets, ensure value for money and identify efficiencies.
- Lead and develop commissioning teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
About You
We're looking for an experienced commissioning professional with:
Significant senior-level experience within health, social care or integrated commissioning.
A proven track record of leading transformation and service redesign.
Strong knowledge of commissioning frameworks, legislation and best practice.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
Experience managing complex projects, budgets and multidisciplinary teams.
The ability to translate strategy into operational delivery and measurable outcomes.
