Summary: The Steering System HIL Test Engineer role involves developing and executing test cases within a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environment, focusing on steering systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test cases to be performed within the Steering System HIL environment.
- Implement existing Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicle test procedures into the Steering HIL environment.
- Operate and manage the Steering System HIL rig, ensuring seamless test execution.
- Develop analysis methods and metrics to evaluate and judge test case results.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand and meet test requests and requirements.
- Characterize and compare the performance of different steering systems and generate detailed reports.
- Correlate virtual models with Steering System HIL data and vehicle data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience with HIL testing (DSPACE, XPACK4, or similar tools).
- Strong understanding of Vehicle Dynamics principles and how they relate to steering systems.
- Significant experience in mechatronic systems validation and verification.
- Proficiency with vehicle simulation software packages (Matlab/Simulink, IPG Carmaker, or similar).
- Experience in programming (Python, C++, or similar languages).
