Summary: The Static Stress Engineer role involves conducting static stress analysis on fixed-wing structures within a leading aerospace company. The position offers both approver and non-approver roles, emphasizing collaboration and innovation in high-impact projects. Candidates will be responsible for compiling data, preparing certification dossiers, and reporting progress to senior engineers. This hybrid position is based in Bristol and requires expertise in aerospace engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile data for trade studies, impact assessments, and RF mitigations
- Conduct static stress analysis on fixed-wing structures using internal tools
- Prepare and, if authorised, approve certification dossiers (composite & metallic)
- Collaborate with wing teams and report progress to the Delivery Team Leader
- Functionally report to the Senior/Lead Stress Engineer on the work package
Key Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in the aerospace sector
- Previous involvement in similar projects or environments
- Strong hands-on background in airframe certification analysis and in-service support
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deliver tasks to agreed timelines and provide progress updates
- Degree in Engineering or a related field (desirable)
- Delegated signatory status (desirable)
- Proficiency in Nastran, Hyperworks, Python scripting, and ISAMI (desirable)
- Familiarity with wing structure design and analysis (desirable)
