Staff Product Designer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Product Designer to join our team in Hopkins, Minnesota. This long-term contract position requires a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual who excels in strategic product design and shaping impactful user experiences. You will play a key role in defining product strategies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions tailored to the needs of financial advisors.

Responsibilities:
Apply human-centered design principles to create innovative solutions and influence design-driven decision-making within digital product teams.
Develop and refine strategic design concepts that align with business and technology goals while driving the overall digital design strategy.
Collaborate closely with product and engineering leaders to shape the portfolio management experience for financial advisors.
Conduct and guide design research activities to gather insights and inform strategic decisions.
Create iterative prototypes to clarify product concepts and enhance user experience strategies.
Present design ideas effectively to stakeholders across all organizational levels, demonstrating confidence and clarity.
Mentor less experienced team members by providing guidance on best practices and methodologies.
Facilitate collaboration within cross-functional teams using strong design facilitation and storytelling skills.
Model leadership competencies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional engagement.
Uphold the organization's values and ensure trust and reputation remain strong with clients.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Interaction Design, UI/UX Design, Web Product Design, Web Development, or a related field.

6 plus years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in product design or a closely related area.

Expertise in conducting design research and translating insights into actionable strategies.

Proficiency in developing prototypes and conceptual designs for digital products.

Strong communication skills with the ability to present ideas confidently and effectively.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product management.

Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and best practices in product development.

Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
