Summary: The role of Staff Nurse in the Intestinal Failure Unit at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust involves managing and delivering care for patients with complex intestinal failure. This position is a 6-month secondment with potential for permanence, requiring a registered nurse with a keen interest in nutrition and IV therapy. The nurse will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient transitions from inpatient to community care. Full training will be provided in specialty areas, including central venous catheters and complex stoma care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, assess, and deliver treatment for patients with complex intestinal failure.
- Support patients during their transition from inpatient to community care.
- Engage in direct contact with inpatients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Promote effective learning in practice among colleagues.
- Liaise with community partners for seamless clinical care delivery.
- Provide evidence-based care and support within a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Skills:
- Current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK.
- Experience in caring for patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
- Knowledge of intravenous therapy and complex stoma care.
