Summary: The SSH Key Technical Solutions Designer role involves creating and maintaining end-to-end solution designs that align with business needs and reference architecture. The position requires presenting solutions to design authorities and stakeholders while providing technical leadership in cybersecurity areas such as identity and access management and SSH key management. The designer will also manage technical risks and ensure compliance with governance practices. This role is based in Sheffield and requires a strong background in cybersecurity and IT transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and maintain end-to-end solution designs aligned with reference architecture and business needs
  • Document and publish design decisions, deviations, risks, and issues
  • Translate business requirements into efficient, cost-effective architectures
  • Ensure all designs and artefacts undergo peer review and design authority approval
  • Manage technical risks, dependencies, and mitigations with transparency
  • Act as a trusted cybersecurity SME across IT programmes
  • Provide technical direction in identity and access management, cryptography, privileged access, and SSH key management
  • Drive architectural discussions with technical SMEs and non-security stakeholders

Key Skills:

  • Proven depth in IAM, cryptography, PAM, and SSH key management
  • Broad IT knowledge and ability to engage with diverse technical teams
  • Experience in large-scale IT transformation programmes
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, or similar)
  • Tools: BizzDesign, Archi, or UML for high-level design visualization
  • Jira for task and project management
  • Confluence for documentation

Location: Edinburgh, Sheffield (2-3 days a week Onsite)

Rate: £600 a day

A Technical Solutions Designer should be comfortable presenting and sharing solutions at design authorities, senior leadership & and stakeholders. Additionally, the Technical Solutions Designer will provide technical thought leadership and direction to their aligned projects and may stand in as subject matter experts and consultants related programmes.

What You’ll Do

  • Architecture & Design

  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Act as a trusted cybersecurity SME across IT programmes
