Summary: The role of SRE - Observability and Performance involves implementing and enhancing observability across Java applications, middleware, and Linux infrastructure using Grafana. The position focuses on monitoring, performance analysis, reliability engineering, and troubleshooting within a complex enterprise platform. The candidate will improve system visibility, platform stability, and operational efficiency while preparing for an AWS migration. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and enhance observability across Java applications, middleware, and Linux infrastructure using Grafana.
- Monitor performance, analyze reliability, and troubleshoot issues across a complex enterprise platform.
- Improve system visibility, platform stability, and operational efficiency through effective monitoring, alerting, and instrumentation.
- Support the migration to AWS by developing cloud-ready observability and automation capabilities.
- Resolve incidents and perform root cause analysis for production systems.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Systems Engineering environments.
- Expertise in Grafana, observability, monitoring, alerting, and telemetry implementation.
- Strong Java application troubleshooting skills, including JVM performance analysis, garbage collection, and thread investigation.
- Experience supporting messaging technologies such as ActiveMQ, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
- Linux administration (CentOS/RHEL), including patching, package management, security remediation, and system troubleshooting.
- Experience building deployment automation and configuration management solutions.
- Strong Bash and Python scripting skills.
- Experience supporting production systems, resolving incidents, and performing root cause analysis.

I'm currently working with a client who is looking for an SRE to implement and enhance observability across Java applications, middleware and Linux infrastructure using Grafana. The role is focused on monitoring, performance analysis, reliability engineering and troubleshooting across a complex enterprise platform.
You'll be responsible for improving system visibility, platform stability and operational efficiency through effective monitoring, alerting and instrumentation. The environment is currently hosted on traditional infrastructure, with an AWS migration planned, offering the opportunity to develop cloud-ready observability, automation and operational capabilities as the platform evolves.
Essential Skills:
Strong hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering or Systems Engineering environments.
Expertise in Grafana, observability, monitoring, alerting and telemetry implementation.
