Summary: We are looking for a Sr. Research Associate/Research Associate to engage in extensive assay development for antibody therapeutics and protein-small molecule interactions. The role requires collaboration within a dynamic team to advance innovative science aimed at addressing unmet medical needs. Candidates should possess relevant experience in assay development and a strong scientific background. The position is based in Brisbane, California.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate immuno-assay (ELISA, MSD, SIMOA and other ultra-sensitive analyte detection platforms) for variety of sample types.
- Develop enzymatic assays for hit validation and optimize workflows for MOA studies for lead generation in cellular assays.
- Model human disease in primary or immortalized cell lines and evaluate therapeutic agents in those models.
- Collaborate with chemistry and biology teams and establish SAR to rapidly drive the hit finding, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization process.
- Analyze and interpret data with rigor and independence.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field and help implement novel technologies for enhanced workflows and/or improved data quality.
Key Skills:
- Degree (BA, BS, MS) in Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field.
- 1-2 years of startup or biotech industry experience is preferred.
- Extensive experience in creating cellular models in antibody and small molecule therapeutic development preferred.
- Experience in antibody development, bioanalytical, biochemical and cell-based assays is preferred.
- Experience with immuno-assays development for analyte detection in complex biological sample matrix preferred.
- Some experience in basic laboratory techniques such as SDS-PAGE, western blotting; immunohistochemistry would be helpful.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic team environment with evolving priorities and timelines.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as an integrated player in a small team environment.
- Detail-oriented, dependable; excellent in oral and written communication.
