Summary: This role for a Senior Engineer in Manufacturing focuses on the planning and execution of relocating metals manufacturing lines to a new facility, supporting the growth of the operation. The position requires technical leadership and collaboration across various departments to ensure smooth transitions and minimal production disruption. The engineer will also be responsible for developing validation plans and procedures related to the manufacturing process. This is a 12-month contract position based in Draper, Utah.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the line-movement workstream of the metals facility relocation project as the technical project lead
- Develop and execute process validation plans, including IQ/OQ/PQ, for manufacturing and facility utility equipment
- Create robust shutdown and startup procedures to minimize production disruption and ensure continuity of supply for critical components
- Liaise with external suppliers for equipment movement, calibration, and related activities associated with the new facility
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Project Management, Facilities, Operations, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and production schedules are maintained
- Support planning of work assignments based on operator performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays
- Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization
Key Skills:
- Equipment and process validation experience
- Strong project management and technical leadership capabilities
- Experience working with highly complex and/or automated manufacturing equipment
- Detail-oriented with strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
- 5–7 years of relevant engineering experience
