Summary: The Sr Cloud Software Engineer role in Wilmslow, UK, involves leading user story refinement meetings and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement quality software solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead User Story refinement meetings to ensure stories are understood and decomposed adequately.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, design, document, and implement quality solutions.
  • Work independently and as part of a team on hard technical problems, providing constructive feedback on best practices, performance, and maintainability.
  • Stay updated with new technologies and techniques for continual improvement of the team’s skill set and product goals.
  • Act as a technical expert for coding, processes, and best practices, effectively communicating this to the team.
  • Collaborate across teams to improve working practices and skill levels.
  • Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the Quality Policy and applicable procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of all aspects of the applications and services owned by the team.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and proven experience as a software developer, with exposure to back-end technology stack (C#, .NET).
  • Experience with Front-End JavaScript Frameworks, especially Angular.
  • Good experience working with Amazon Web Services, Microservices, and API development.
  • Knowledge and application of software engineering practices (e.g., Unit testing, TDD, CI/CD, SOLID, BDD).
  • Proven ability to lead design and development of complex features.
  • Ability to work as part of an Agile delivery team.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • Desirable skills include continuous delivery with pipelines in Spinnaker, Kubernetes, Docker, TerraForm, and experience implementing Data Dog.
  • Experience using GitHub and GitHub Actions, Behavior Driven Development (BDD) with Gherkin & SpecFlow.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Jira, Confluence, software security best practices, and software development for regulated environments.

Role: Sr Cloud Software Engineer

Work location: Wilmslow, UK

Duration:12 Months initially

Role Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Role specific:

  • Lead User Story refinement meetings to ensure stories are understood and decomposed adequately
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, design, document and implement quality solutions
  • Work independently and as part of a team with deep focus on hard technical problems and explain the why, how, and what, that makes your solution technically sound, provide constructive feedback regarding best practices, performance, and maintainability
  • Stay ahead of the curve with respect to new technologies and techniques with an eye towards continual improvement of both the team’s skill set and the product goals
  • To act as technical expert for coding, process and best practices (e.g. adherence to Definition of Done) and effectively communicate this to the team
  • Collaborate across teams to improve working practices and skill levels
  • To carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the Quality Policy and all applicable procedures
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of all aspects of the applications and services owned by the team.

Experience required:
