Summary: The role of Sr Cloud Engineer involves providing technical and operational support for a hybrid cloud infrastructure within a major financial organization based in Hong Kong. The candidate will be responsible for managing the Private Cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting system incidents, and supporting the Public Cloud environment. A strong background in cloud computing, virtualization, and network security is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the Private Cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, load balancers, and sub-systems.
- Perform capacity planning, regular maintenance, and patch management.
- Troubleshoot system incidents and provide user support.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including system administrative procedures and disaster recovery plans.
- Participate in system-related projects, technical research, and proof-of-concept work.
- Provide support for the Public Cloud environment, including monitoring, deployment, and troubleshooting.
Key Skills:
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience, candidates with more experience will be considered for the senior role.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing hardware, operating systems, and software (including VMware, Cisco, Dell, NetApp, and Microsoft).
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing, virtualization, and network security.
- Experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and NSX-T.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, and SQL Server.
- Experience with AWS or similar public cloud solution.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Additional certifications (e.g., VMware VCP on Cloud Management and Automation, desktop and mobility, network virtualization, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are advantageous.
