Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead production planning activities, translating demand signals into actionable build plans across a portfolio of up to four suppliers
  • Manage purchasing of metals, including bars and chips, ensuring quality, availability, and cost efficiency
  • Develop and maintain month-to-month supplier forecasts and production schedules to achieve on-time delivery targets
  • Review and optimize suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, and availability
  • Approve purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
  • Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action
  • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations
  • Support product transfer activities as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and supplier partners

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience required; 7+ years welcome
  • Medical device background preferred but not required
  • Product transfer experience a plus
  • Strong production planning skills with the ability to translate demand into executable build plans
  • Experience managing a small, focused supplier portfolio with high accountability
  • Proficiency in JDE Oracle or a comparable ERP/MRP system
  • Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and other technical data
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and purchasing best practices
  • Ability to evaluate and manage supplier performance

Our client is a leading medical device organization. They are seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Analyst – Planner/Buyer to support production planning and procurement operations within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is heavily weighted toward planning and will be instrumental in maintaining continuity as the team undergoes a transition in May.
