Summary: The role of Snowflake & SQL Server Developer involves providing comprehensive support for Snowflake and SQL Server environments, focusing on maintenance, governance, and operational enhancements. The candidate will be responsible for managing ETL processes, incident management, and database performance tuning within enterprise data ecosystems. The position requires a strong background in database development and data migrations. This is a hybrid contract role based in London for a duration of 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support, maintenance, remediation, and governance for Snowflake and SQL Server environments.
- Manage ETL and legacy systems including RDM, RDRM, CRM, DPR, Arrear, and SSIS packages.
- Monitor daily data operations and pipelines across Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, and Kafka.
- Handle incident management and troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Manage service requests including user provisioning, data requests, auditing, reporting, and security updates.
- Support patching activities, DR (Disaster Recovery) events, and change/problem management processes.
- Oversee database provisioning, performance tuning, maintenance, and health monitoring.
- Implement table partitioning, storage optimization, and performance improvements.
- Develop and maintain alerting and monitoring frameworks (Datadog dashboards preferred).
- Implement and maintain security frameworks, user access controls, and audit compliance.
- Manage data protection standards, retention, and archival processes.
- Support migration of tables from ODS/Oracle to Snowflake using ODI.
- Manage DR and CRM data migration into Snowflake to reduce dependency on legacy systems.
- Maintain and enhance file-loading automations, SSIS jobs, and third-party tool integrations.
- Lead initiatives around cost optimization, storage reclamation, and Azure SQL DB dependency reduction.
- Support server decommissioning and SSIS migration activities.

- Provide RTL and deployment support across environments.
