Summary: The SQL Database Administrator (DBA) role at FDM involves managing and maintaining SQL Server databases for a public sector client. This hybrid position requires a skilled professional with at least 5 years of experience in SQL database management, focusing on performance, availability, and security. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, and upgrades
- Monitor database performance and optimise queries for efficiency
- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data
- Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and incidents
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support database-related projects
- Develop and maintain documentation for database processes and procedures
Key Skills:
- At least 5 years’ experience as an SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server database management and administration
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimisation
- Familiarity with database security best practices
- Up to date with the latest SQL Server technologies and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Must have live SC Clearance
