Summary: The role of Lead DBA involves planning and managing database systems, ensuring data integrity and security, and troubleshooting database issues. The position requires collaboration with the Database team to design and maintain essential systems for business functions. Candidates should possess extensive experience in database management and a strong understanding of various database technologies. The role is based in London with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage capacity of database management systems
- Schedule Database patching for production and lower environments
- Plan and strategize backup and DR processes
- Provide audit and governance requirements
- Maintain detailed technical documentation
- Assist efforts to define database strategy, architecture, standards and procedures to preserve the integrity and security of company data resources
- Troubleshoot database problems and implement corrective measures as required
- Design, implement, and maintain systems that are instrumental to business function
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of IT concepts such as DB design, DB layout, DB structures, DB stored procedures, DB tables, DB optimization, TCP/IP, IT security concepts and practices
- Expert in SQL Server with understanding of Oracle and knowledge of Informix, DB2, MongoDB, DynamoDB and other databases
- Self-starter with a great attitude, able to work with little supervision
- Ability to analyze and write business and technical specifications
- Degree in information technology/computer information systems or related
- 6+ years of work experience in database support and management
- Clear understanding of IT Operations, Software Development and Release Management using GitHub
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with GitHub, ServiceNow, Jira, MS Office, SQL, etc.

- Must be an expert in SQL Server along with a good understanding of Oracle and knowledge of Informix, DB2, MongoDB, DynamoDB and any other databases
