Summary: The SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving performance issues within a client's legacy Data Warehouse. This role requires collaboration with the Data Warehouse Lead and offshore support team to ensure efficient operations and the implementation of best practices. The DBA will also focus on optimizing SQL queries and developing a modernization roadmap for the Data Warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse existing Data Warehouse structures to identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to indexes, file groups, and other areas of concern.
  • Work closely with the Data Warehouse Lead to develop a remediation plan.
  • Collaborate with the offshore team to deliver solutions quickly and effectively.
  • Optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and workloads for improved performance.
  • Implement best practice methodologies for monitoring and maintaining the Data Warehouse.
  • Provide clear documentation of issues identified and solutions applied.
  • Support in developing a roadmap to modernise and future-proof the Data Warehouse environment.
