Summary: The SPS QA/QC Lead position is a senior leadership role focused on overseeing quality assurance activities for Subsea Production Systems within a major Field Development Project. The role involves implementing quality management systems, managing contractor performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will act as the primary interface for all quality matters and will be responsible for developing quality strategies and conducting audits. This position requires frequent international travel and relocation to Baku during the installation phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead implementation of the SPS Package Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with project and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and execute quality strategies, including risk-based inspection and surveillance plans.
  • Manage contractor and vendor quality performance, ensuring timely resolution of quality issues and non-conformances.
  • Act as the primary interface between the Company, EPC contractors, suppliers, and third-party inspection agencies on all SPS quality matters.
  • Monitor and verify compliance with contractual quality requirements and ISO 9001 principles.
  • Review and approve Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and vendor quality documentation.
  • Lead quality audits, vendor surveillance activities, factory inspections, and testing programs.
  • Manage NCRs, corrective actions, preventive actions, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate quality activities across manufacturing facilities, fabrication yards, and key subcontractor locations worldwide.
  • Ensure the timely preparation and close-out of Quality Dossiers, Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs), and certification packages.
  • Produce quality reports and KPI dashboards for project management and stakeholders.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience supporting Subsea Production Systems (SPS) projects.
  • Proven experience in QA/QC leadership roles on major EPC or EPCI projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Subsea Trees, Manifolds, Umbilicals, and Subsea Control Systems.
  • Extensive experience with supplier quality management and vendor surveillance programs.
  • Strong knowledge of international industry standards including API, ISO, and DNV.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working within multicultural, international project environments.
  • Fluent English communication skills.

Position Overview

Airswift is supporting a major international energy operator in the recruitment of an experienced SPS QA/QC Lead Engineer for a major Field Development Project. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the quality strategy and quality assurance activities across the Subsea Production Systems (SPS) package, covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and installation phases.
