Summary: The role of SPM Business Architect involves leading the development of business architecture for a significant social transformation programme within the public sector. The position requires collaboration with senior stakeholders to align SPM solutions with enterprise strategy, ensuring clarity and innovation in national services. The architect will also be responsible for evaluating project impacts and driving capability planning across programme teams. This is a hybrid contract position based in Edinburgh, with a focus on IBM Social Programme Management expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of SPM business architecture across a major transformation programme
- Work with senior stakeholders and the SPM Design Lead to identify and prioritise business capability needs
- Design business architecture models aligning systems, products, and operations
- Ensure SPM solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and financial objectives
- Evaluate project impacts and risks, and present architecture recommendations to senior leaders
- Drive capability planning and integration into business strategies and delivery roadmaps
- Lead initiative scoping, planning, and alignment across programme teams
- Own and deliver improvements to core business processes with a hands-on approach
Key Skills:
- Significant hands-on experience architecting IBM Social Programme Management (SPM) solutions, ideally within public sector settings
- Proven expertise in SPM business analysis, solution design, architecture, integration, and production support
- Strong track record of leading SPM-focused projects and driving programme outcomes
- Experience working on enterprise-scale Agile projects/programmes
- Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to communicate technical strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience collaborating across architecture domains and translating strategic plans into action
