Locum Speech and Language Therapist £525 per day | Tower Hamlets | Flexible & term-time only work

We have exciting opportunities for Locum Speech and Language Therapists to join us in Tower Hamlets, supporting children and their families in a vibrant and diverse inner London borough. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of improving ways of working in SEND within a borough with a newly-published SEND Strategy and a strong partnership approach.

Role highlights: As a Locum Speech and Language Therapist, your role will likely include:

  • Running targeted-level groups with parents and children under 5, both in children and family centres and online.
  • Writing advice for education, health, and care needs assessments (EHCNAs).
  • Delivering intervention for children under 5 with language difficulties.

You will be supervised and supported by a senior Speech and Language Therapist from the community children's therapies team in Tower Hamlets, part of Barts Health NHS Trust. You’ll have opportunities to work alongside an expanding team of Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists, as well as collaborating with educational psychologists and Early Help professionals.

Key details:

  • Duration: Ideally up to 18 months, minimum 6 months.
  • Working pattern: At least 2 days per week, term-time only.
  • Location: Mostly face-to-face in Tower Hamlets, with flexible options for home working when delivering virtual groups or writing reports.
  • Accessibility: Tower Hamlets is well-served by public transport (including Elizabeth line stations) and has a strong commitment to improving SEND services.
