Summary: The role of Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist involves delivering specialized speech and language interventions to children aged 3-19 at a Specialist School in Hammersmith. The position is a locum contract for an initial duration of six months, requiring collaboration with other professionals to support students with communication needs. The therapist will also conduct assessments and maintain communication with teachers and parents regarding student progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language interventions as outlined in children's Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Primarily work within the assigned special school, supporting students with communication needs.
- Work alongside Occupational Therapists (OTs), teachers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
- Maintain accurate and timely notes after each visit, ensuring continuity of care.
- Provide regular updates to teachers and parents regarding student progress and therapy recommendations.
- Conduct speech and language assessments, reviewing and adapting therapy plans as needed.
Key Skills:
- HCPC & RCSLT registration.
- Dysphagia experience required.
- Minimum 2 years' paediatric SLT experience (including schools).
