Key Responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and innovative Class Teacher to join a well-established and inclusive special school setting in the Stoke-on-Trent area. This school supports pupils aged 4-16 who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with a primary focus on Cognition and Learning. The school currently caters to over 240 pupils and follows the person-centred EQUALS curriculum, tailored to promote independence, engagement, and lifelong learning.
The successful candidate will teach a mixed Key Stage 3 and 4 class, supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and associated needs including speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), autism spectrum conditions (ASC), ADHD, and specific learning difficulties (SpLD). This role would suit a teacher who:
- Has experience in early reading and maths strategies
- Ideally has a background in teaching KS1 or KS2 (though all backgrounds will be considered)
- Is creative, nurturing and resilient
- Can design engaging, stimulating learning environments that promote curiosity and exploration
