Detailed Description From Employer:

We are seeking a Solutions Design Analyst to support the strategic development, expansion, and new-build projects across our business. This role plays a key part in shaping investment decisions by designing, modelling, and validating solutions that support business growth and operational efficiency . Unlike a traditional CI (Continuous Improvement) role that focuses on refining existing processes, this role requires a forward-thinking, strategic mindset —one that can work with limited or incomplete data and apply logical assumptions to develop robust business cases . You will be responsible for supporting the development of new opportunities , conducting feasibility studies, and modelling different expansion scenarios, helping senior stakeholders make data-driven investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solutions Design & Expansion Modelling
  • Support the design and evaluation of new developments, site expansions, and infrastructure projects, ensuring feasibility and alignment with business goals.
  • Develop cost-benefit and scenario models to compare expansion options and support capital investment decisions.
  • Assess operational, financial, and strategic implications of new sites, facilities, and capacity expansions.
  • Provide input into key customer tenders, particularly where they relate to new capacity, site expansions, or development projects.
  • Business Case Development
  • Prepare structured, data-driven business cases for new builds, upgrades, and strategic investments.
  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, and Strategy teams to ensure accurate, aligned data assumptions and forecasts.
  • Present recommendations in a clear, compelling way to influence senior decision-makers.
  • Data Analysis & Assumption Building
  • Build Excel-based models, using existing data where available and supplementing it with external logic, benchmarks, and assumptions when data is incomplete.
  • Identify key value drivers, risks, and sensitivities in business case models.
  • Challenge existing assumptions and bring fresh thinking to investment and design decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Work with diverse stakeholders across Europe, including senior leadership, Finance, Operations, Commercial, and external consultants.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to gather insights, validate assumptions, and ensure solutions are practical and aligned with business needs.
  • Present findings in a clear, visually engaging way so that non-technical stakeholders can quickly understand the implications.
  • Modelling, Excel & Data Visualisation
  • Build financial models and operational forecasts to support investment and capacity decisions.
  • Use Excel (advanced level) for scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and data interrogation.
  • Where relevant, use visualisation tools to translate complex analysis into simple, actionable insights.
  • Cross-Border Collaboration & Travel
  • Collaborate with teams across different European markets.
  • Travel within Europe as required to assess sites, meet stakeholders, and support project execution.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in 3PL / Logistics / Supply Chain Solutions Design
  • Background or strong exposure to strategy, expansion planning, logistics network design, or operational growth projects.
  • Comfort with Limited Data
  • Able to make logical assumptions, use external insights, and still maintain clarity on risks and sensitivities.
  • Financial & Operational Modelling Skills
  • Experience building models for capital investments, expansion scenarios, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Excel Expertise
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for modelling, data analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Storytelling & Communication
  • Able to turn complex analysis into clear, structured, engaging messages for senior stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working across functions and levels.
  • Willingness to Travel
  • Open to European travel Denmark/Sweden/Norway/Belgium/France/The Netherlands/Ireland for site visits, stakeholder meetings, and project assessments.
