Solution Architect (Contract)

Contract Length: 3 months initial (strong likelihood of extension)

Rate: £615 to £625 per day

Location: Southcoast (Hybrid)

IR35 Status: TBC

Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance or higher required

We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a high-profile digital transformation programme, helping shape and deliver secure, scalable technology solutions.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the end-to-end solution architecture across a range of digital initiatives, providing technical leadership throughout the software development life cycle.

You'll balance strategic thinking with hands-on architectural delivery, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with modern engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality solution designs and technical blueprints
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions
• Guide architectural decisions across multidisciplinary agile delivery teams
• Ensure architectural consistency throughout design and implementation
• Identify and mitigate technical risks across multiple workstreams
• Influence stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
• Maintain architectural governance and design assurance
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation using enterprise collaboration tools

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions
• Strong understanding of modern application architecture and cloud-native design
• Experience producing end-to-end solution designs across complex environments
• Ability to balance strategic architecture with delivery-focused decision making
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate challenges into practical architectural solutions

Technical Environment: Experience with the following technologies is highly desirable:

• Azure and AWS cloud platforms
• Kubernetes and containerised applications
• Modern application platforms
• Secure by Design principles
• Zero Trust Architecture
• Software Defined Networking
• Modern integration and distributed application patterns
