Solutions Architect - Banking

Summary: The Solutions Architect role focuses on designing and documenting technical solutions for Cards related technologies within the banking sector. The position requires managing diverse stakeholders and influencing outcomes in a regulated environment. The architect will support the software development lifecycle and ensure the technical integrity of applications aligns with architectural strategies. This is a hybrid contract position based in Northampton.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and document technical solutions spanning Cards related applications/products and middleware platforms.
• Lead liaison with business clients to shape initial ideas into comprehensive requirements for system development.
• Support design and integration activity throughout the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
• Drive collaboration across component design and build teams to ensure adherence to defined design.
• Maintain technical integrity and quality of applications in alignment with architecture strategy throughout delivery.

Key Skills:

• Expertise in architecting solutions across Cards related technologies, Open Banking, and Tokenization.
• Experience managing diverse stakeholders and influencing conflicting objectives.
• Knowledge of financial services business and applications.
• Ability to present complex technical ideas effectively.
• Preferred banking (retail) experience and exposure to regulated environments.
• Experience with API design strategies and Cloud technologies.
• AWS Solution Architect certification (foundation level or higher) and ITIL principles understanding.
• Application/Infrastructure/Enterprise Architect training and certification (e.g., TOGAF).
• Beneficial experience with data architecture and data migration.
