Summary: The Solutions Architect role requires an AWS Certified professional to lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions for a large-scale automation warehousing program. The position emphasizes hands-on expertise in AWS, Kafka for real-time streaming, and security practices within an Agile framework. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable and secure architectures. This is a 6-month contract based in Leicester, ideally requiring onsite presence five days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deploy end-to-end solutions on AWS, leveraging best practices and deep technical expertise.
  • Architect and implement Real Time data streaming solutions using Kafka.
  • Apply security-first principles to all designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams, providing hands-on technical leadership and guidance.
  • Act as the primary AWS subject matter expert, influencing architectural decisions across the programme.
  • Continuously assess and improve cloud architectures to ensure scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.

Key Skills:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate) - Essential.
  • Proven, deep hands-on expertise with AWS cloud services (compute, storage, networking, IAM, security, monitoring, automation, etc.).
  • Strong ability to build AWS environments and components (not just design/advise, but also technically implement).
  • Solid experience with Kafka for messaging and Real Time data streaming.
  • Strong background in security architecture, compliance, and cloud governance.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery models.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ideally based near Leicester, with the ability to work onsite (5 days/week preferred).

About the Role
