Summary: The Solution Designer role involves designing and developing integration solutions to connect various systems and applications, both internally and externally. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and includes responsibilities such as creating integration design documents and troubleshooting issues. The role is based in a hybrid working environment in Newcastle and is focused on leveraging technical expertise in cloud and financial technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop integration solutions to connect various systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Create detailed integration design documents (UML standards).
  • Ensure seamless data flow and communication between different systems.
  • Develop and document integration standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with fellow solution designers, architects, and development teams to implement integration solutions.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of integration solutions.
  • Transform uncertainty and conflicting information into process flow.
  • Provide interconnect between PM, XD, and Engineering through technical expertise.
  • Discover business rules and constraints.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a technical solution design role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Solution Designer or similar role.
  • Strong technical acumen with a solid understanding of SaaS, APIs, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), and financial/accounting technologies.
  • Experience with APIs, web services, middleware, and API tools and technologies such as GitHub, REST API, microservices, Postman, OpenAPI, etc.
  • Capacity to create technical assets to improve team efficiency.
  • Application of design thinking to determine the best solution.
  • Bonus Points: Experience working with enterprise software in fintech, accounting, or financial services sectors.
