Summary: The role of Solution Designer involves collaborating with Architecture and Business Solutions teams to create end-to-end IT solution designs for a leading organization in the energy sector. This position is essential for guiding the technical direction of complex IT systems, ensuring they meet strategic goals and enterprise architecture standards. The contract is initially for six months and requires a hybrid working arrangement with two days per week in Hampshire. The role is classified as inside IR35, with a competitive daily rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Architecture and Business Solutions teams to deliver IT solution designs.
  • Shape the technical direction of complex IT systems across the business.
  • Ensure designs align with strategic goals and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Focus on resilience, scalability, and long-term value in IT systems.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience producing high-level and/or detailed designs for IT projects.
  • Ideally experience working with Operational Technology (OT).
  • A solid understanding of enterprise IT systems, including infrastructure, cloud, applications, and data integration.
  • Experience with technologies such as IoT, edge computing, or other modern digital platforms (a plus, but not essential).
  • Familiarity with enterprise response, recovery, and business continuity strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

We are looking for a talented Solution Designer to join a market-leading organisation within the energy sector. With over 85 years of experience, this well-established company owns and manages critical national infrastructure and is currently delivering a forward-funded, futureproofing programme with enormous potential for growth.

As a Solution Designer, you will work closely with Architecture and Business Solutions teams to deliver end-to-end IT solution designs that align with both strategic goals and enterprise architecture standards. This role is critical in shaping the technical direction of complex IT systems across the business, with a focus on resilience, scalability, and long-term value.
