Summary: The Solution Architect role requires a highly skilled professional to lead the design and delivery of architectural solutions for complex portfolios, working closely with C-level leaders and senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of enterprise and solution architectures across large-scale portfolios, addressing complex business and technology challenges.
- Shape pragmatic architectural strategies, operational models and governance structures that resonate at board level and drive value across the enterprise.
- Implement and evolve architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate, MODAF, SAFe), blending these with client context to deliver practical outcomes.
- Deliver architectural assessments, technology roadmaps, transition architectures and legacy integration plans to support digital and cloud transformation.
- Champion sustainability, technical debt remediation, and innovation within legacy environments.
- Engage and align with stakeholders across business, data, application, infrastructure and security domains to ensure end-to-end coherence and buy-in.
- Mentor architecture teams and uplift enterprise architecture maturity across client organisations.
- Articulate architectural trade-offs and commercial implications, including CapEx/OpEx (TOTEX) and sustainability KPIs.
- Contribute thought leadership in areas such as platform strategy, hybrid cloud, IoT, AI/ML, HPC, and agile architecture delivery.
Key Skills:
- Proven hands-on leadership in defining and embedding IT strategies and enterprise architecture within complex organisations.
- Track record of resolving enterprise-level architectural challenges across structural, behavioural, data, and commercial dimensions.
- Experience leading stakeholder engagements and navigating competing priorities to find viable architectural pathways.
- Expertise in cloud strategy and delivery (AWS, Azure, GCP), with strong knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and modern cloud-native patterns (e.g., microservices, FaaS).
- Familiarity with major architecture frameworks and modelling tools (e.g., ArchiMate, TOGAF, Bizzdesign).
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of engaging C-suite stakeholders and technical teams alike.
