Summary: The Lead Solution Architect role involves driving end-to-end solution design for large-scale, mission-critical programmes within an airline client. The position requires collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to ensure alignment with a unified architectural vision while focusing on business outcomes and technical excellence. The role is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days onsite in Luton, UK, and is contract-based for 6-12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and own solution architecture across complex programmes and multiple product teams
- Create architecture roadmaps, standards, guardrails and reusable design patterns
- Lead cross-team integration design, data flows and platform alignment
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient and aligned to enterprise strategy
- Manage architecture governance, risks, dependencies and technical decision-making
- Influence senior stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Mentor engineering teams and promote architecture best practice
Key Skills:
- 6+ years' experience in Solution Architecture within large enterprise environments
- Strong stakeholder management across technical and business functions
- Expertise in cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred), microservices, APIs and event-driven systems
- Experience leading multi-team transformation programmes
- Strong understanding of Agile and product-led delivery models
- TOGAF or similar architecture certification desirable
- Experience within airline, transport or operational environments is advantageous
