Solution Architect

Solution/Techical Architect - £750 per day - Inside IR35 - 2-3 days a week on site in central London - 6 months initial contract

We are supporting a leading organisation within a highly regulated environment to appoint a Technical Architect to provide technical leadership, architectural governance, and assurance across complex technology programmes.

The role will act as a technical design authority, working with internal teams, delivery partners, and suppliers to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, integrated, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. You will provide architectural oversight throughout the life cycle of projects, from initial design through to implementation and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and assurance of technical architectures across cloud, infrastructure, integration, and application platforms.
• Act as the technical authority for assigned projects, ensuring solutions align with architectural principles, security requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Review and assure supplier-delivered technical designs, ensuring quality, interoperability, and operational sustainability.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, delivery teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Support architecture governance activities, including design reviews and Architecture Review Boards.
• Embed cyber security principles into solution designs and support technical risk management.
• Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies where they deliver business value.

About You

You will be an experienced Technical Architect with a strong background in designing and assuring enterprise-scale technology solutions. You will have experience working across complex environments, influencing technical decisions, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders and suppliers.

You will bring strong knowledge of cloud, infrastructure, integration, and security architectures, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience in Technical Architecture roles within large-scale, complex, or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and modern technology landscapes.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.
• Experience providing architectural assurance across supplier-led delivery models.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience within regulated sectors such as nuclear, energy, government, or critical infrastructure.
• Cloud architecture experience across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• TOGAF, ITIL, or relevant cloud/vendor certifications.
