Summary: The role of Solution Architect involves leading and influencing stakeholders to align technical vision with business strategy for a Central Government client. The position requires exceptional communication skills and practical experience in technical and solution architecture, particularly within secure environments. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid model, primarily based in East Kilbride, and must be eligible for SC/DV level vetting. This is an initial 12-month contract with a focus on cloud solutions and architecture leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and influence stakeholders across multiple disciplines to craft and advocate for long-term technical vision.
- Translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide hands-on experience in technical and solution architecture.
- Understand and guide software and infrastructure design considerations.
- Develop vision, principles, and strategy for architecture across products and technologies.
- Design and implement AWS/Azure solutions, optimizing deployments for security and performance.
- Work within secure environments, particularly in IT Services/Consulting contexts.

SBA are currently supporting our Central Government client, who are seeking a Solution Architect on an initial 12 month contract located in East Kilbride (Hybrid)
Essential
Stakeholder Management: You will have proven ability to lead and influence stakeholders across multiple disciplines, crafting and advocating for long-term technical vision aligned with business strategy.
Communicating & Influencing: You will have exceptional communication skills, adept at translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Delivery: You will have practical hands-on experience in technical and solution architecture and Making Effective Decisions:
Technology Expertise: You will have a good understanding of a broad range of industry-standard technologies, both proprietary and open source, across a diverse range of Microsoft and Linux-based deployments,
Software & Infrastructure Expertise: You will have a good understanding of both software and infrastructure design considerations and be comfortable working with engineers to understand and guide the datacentre environment that applications are deployed into.
Architecture Leadership: You will have deep experience in working in an architecture function and leading the development of the vision, principles, and strategy for architects for a set of products, projects, and technologies.
Cloud Expertise: Experience designing and implementing AWS/azure solutions. Optimising and automating (IaC) deployments for maximum security, performance, and cost-effectiveness. Exposure/knowledge to GCP
Secure environments: The ideal candidate will have a recent background working for an IT Services/Consulting company within an Official/Secret/Top secret environment. (Tier 2/3)
Location: Successful applicant MUST be willing to work up to 2/3 days in East Kilbride (non-negotiable as this aligns with the rest of the existing team)
