Summary: The Solution Architect role involves leading the design and implementation of solutions for an insurance client in Dublin, requiring collaboration across various technologies and stakeholders. The position is hybrid, with one day per week on-site, and is offered on an initial six-month contract. The architect will focus on midrange technologies and their integration within the broader technology landscape. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead solution designs within the delivery teams, acting as a technical authority.
- Contribute to the full software development life cycle, from the initial business requirements phase to deployment and production support.
- Design, plan, and oversee implementations, working with team members to ensure solutions are robust, efficient, and well-balanced.
- Review vendor proposals and implementations, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Ensure solutions align with Enterprise Architecture through collaboration with parent organization teams.
- Propose technologies, applications, and frameworks, working with wider technology teams to drive continuous improvement in change management.
- Represent technical solutions in governance discussions related to security and architecture.
- Assist business partners in managing data both in the cloud and on-premise, in alignment with data governance standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly business and product owners.
- Work closely with other Solution Architects, Project Managers, Product Owners, and Developers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills, explaining complex technical issues and solutions to business stakeholders.
- Analyze data trends and patterns to support tactical decision-making.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest digital trends, technologies, and practices.
- Advocate for the importance of continuous integration, delivery, and quality assurance within the team.
Key Skills:
- Life400 experience is highly desirable.
- Highly professional and self-motivated with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience as an AS400 Developer in financial services or insurance is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall project delivery models.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel), Jira, Confluence, and Visio.
- Knowledge of organizational change principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
- Strong team player, able to collaborate with others.
- Deep understanding of system implementation and software development life cycles.
- Experience translating business needs into functional and technical requirements.
- Practical knowledge of data management, integration, and data quality control.
- Experience with technologies such as Mainframe, AS400, Cobol, SQL development, IBM Websphere, and MSP is an advantage.
