Summary: The Solution Architect role focuses on leading the transformation of Backup and Restore systems for a global Asset Manager, aiming to create a resilient and scalable data ecosystem. The position involves modernizing Data Vault architecture and enhancing data lineage capabilities to support regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. The architect will collaborate with various teams to ensure alignment with business requirements and compliance standards. This role is critical for enabling strategic decision-making across the asset management business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess & Audit: Review existing backup, restore, and Data Vault implementations across global environments.
  • Architect Modern Solutions: Design scalable, secure, and compliant backup and restore systems integrated with robust data lineage and metadata tracking.
  • Data Lineage Integration: Implement lineage-aware data flows to ensure traceability from source systems through the Data Vault to downstream analytics and reporting.
  • Data Vault Modernization: Redesign and optimize Data Vault 2.0 architecture, including hubs, links, satellites, and business vault layers, to support Real Time analytics and regulatory reporting.
  • Cloud Enablement: Lead migration to cloud-native or hybrid platforms (eg, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift) while preserving lineage and vault integrity.
  • Governance & Compliance: Define and enforce data retention, RPO/RTO, and lineage policies aligned with global regulations (eg, SEC, FCA, GDPR, MiFID II).
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Data Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to ensure alignment and transparency.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect in financial services or asset management.
  • Expertise in best in-class backup technologies (eg, Rubrik, Veeam, Commvault) and disaster recovery planning.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Vault 2.0 design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with data lineage tools and metadata management platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms and modern data warehousing.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting data architecture in finance.
  • Certifications such as TOGAF, CDMP, ITIL, or cloud-specific credentials.

Currently have an assignment for Solution Architect to lead the transformation of Backup and Restore systems, for a global Asset Manager. This assignment is part of a broader project to build a resilient, transparent, and scalable data ecosystem that supports regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making across our global asset management business.
Role is to understand the revised business requirements, modernize the Data Vault architecture and review data lineage capabilities.
