Summary: We are looking for a skilled Software Tester to join our team on a 6-month contract basis in Telford. The candidate should have a strong background in software testing, particularly with Java and related technologies, and will be responsible for designing and executing test plans to ensure software quality. The role requires collaboration with developers and product managers, as well as expertise in various testing tools and methodologies. Clearance is required, ideally SC cleared or SC eligible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Java applications.
- Perform functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and design test strategies.
- Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools.
- Automate testing processes using tools such as Jenkins and Gitlab.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Provide regular updates on testing progress and results.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in XML for data representation and manipulation.
- Experience in testing APIs and web services.
- Strong knowledge of SQL for database testing.
- Familiarity with Vstride for performance testing.
- Proficient in using Git for version control.
- Experience with Gitlab for CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise in Jenkins for automation and continuous integration.
- Knowledge of Weblogic server for application deployment and testing.
- Experience with AWS cloud services.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux commands and scripting.
- ISTQB Foundation certification in software testing.
- Experience in creating test frameworks using Java.
