Summary: The Software Standardization & Industry Development Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping software ecosystems by engaging with global standards organizations and promoting open-source technologies. This contractor position focuses on the development of next-generation mobile applications and intelligent technologies, requiring collaboration with both European and HQ teams. The role demands a strong technical background and the ability to analyze regulatory impacts on the software landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company in international standards organizations (e.g., ECMA, W3C, OCX) focusing on mobile OS, open source, and emerging software technologies.
  • Contribute to the evolution of software standards and technologies (e.g., ArkTS, Atomic Services, HarmonyOS Native Apps and Kits, Open Source Enablers).
  • Analyze and report on new software technologies, regulatory developments, and policy trends, particularly European regulations (e.g., DMA, DSA) impacting the software ecosystem.
  • Work closely with European and HQ teams to align business and technology strategies.
  • Define working plans, deliver internal reports, and support external presentations at industry events and summits.
  • Promote innovative pilots and partnerships with European tech partners and academic institutions using Huawei’s software technologies.
  • Support project management, internal coordination, and budgeting activities within the EU-SID CBG team.

Key Skills:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of programming languages, mobile application development (Android/iOS/HarmonyOS), and the software development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with software core technologies such as operating systems, middleware, and AI frameworks.
  • Previous participation in international standards bodies (e.g., ECMA, W3C, ISO) or contributions to open source projects preferred.
  • Ability to produce clear, insightful reports on technical trends, regulatory impacts, and technology policy.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills in English.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in multicultural environments.
  • Fluent in English; Mandarin Chinese fluency or professional proficiency preferred.
  • Experience in privacy, cybersecurity, or AI/machine learning technologies is a plus.
