We are seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support a program where we need to deploy someone at a customer facility in Luton (Mon to Fri). The role will be based across of a range of Products, and will work directly with engineering teams and with our customers project teams and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent software assurance support to the development and release of software, verifying it is in accordance with the contracted and company standards.
  • Create and maintain software quality assurance plans in accordance with contractual conditions and company standards.
  • Assess the ability of subcontracted companies to perform software development to required standards.
  • Assess projects for compliance with software development plans and processes.
  • Participate in software lifecycle reviews.
  • Performing software conformity reviews and physical/functional configuration audits.
  • Verify the release of deliverable software.


Background and Experience:

  • Knowledge and practical experience of software quality.
  • Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly 'complex' industry.
  • Be a logical thinker, capable of translating complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
  • Preferably have demonstrated experience working in high precision manufacturing environment.
  • An Airborne software background, with good working knowledge of software standards RTCA/DO-178C, AS9115, and AQAP-2210 highly advantageous, but not essential.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a UK National due to security restrictions.
  • Ideally holds UK SC Level or above Security Clearance
  • Ideally be in commutable distance of Luton or willing to fund staying locally to be on-site Monday to Friday.

Contract:
This role falls inside IR35 and requires engagement through an umbrella company.
