Summary: The Software Development Specialist role involves building, designing, and securing modern technology platforms within a software-defined, automation-first environment. Candidates will be responsible for delivering automated engineering capabilities and integrating security controls into workflows. The position is available across various seniority levels and requires active DV clearance. The role is based in London, Cheltenham, Ipswich, or Manchester and is on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver automated engineering platform capabilities in a CI/CD environment.
- Design and evolve CI/CD pipelines and embed Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
- Integrate security controls into workflows so services are secure by design.
- Support engineering teams, remove manual tasks, and improve platform reliability.
- Collaborate across development, security, and operations teams.
Key Skills:
- Experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, or C#.
- Cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes/Helm.
- GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Database technologies and tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
- Agile principles, technical documentation, and security principles (Zero Trust, IAM).
